Attorney Biography
Jeff Friedman has been providing Southern Californians with aggressive, skilled, knowledgeable, caring, and concerned representation in criminal cases for 40 years. His practice is primarily devoted to defending people accused of drug "crimes," with particular emphasis on medical marijuana cases.
In addition to handling his own clients' cases from start to finish, Jeff is often asked by other criminal attorneys to associate in with them and prepare and litigate motions to suppress evidence (illegal searches and seizures), confidential informant motions, sealed search warrant motions, writs, appeals, and other technical legal proceedings on behalf of their clients.Jeff has recently obtained dismissals of every felony charge against his clients in cases involving (1) possession for sale and transportation of more than 100 pounds of marijuana and (2) multiple counts of possession for sale of marijuana by operating a medical marijuana collective with more than 4000 members. Jeff also obtained a dismissal of an entire double murder case in the Court of Appeal.
Jeff's entire practice is limited to the defense of people who are accused of criminal violations. He understands how nerve wracking, and even terrifying, it can be to have the sword of a criminal case hanging over one's head, occupying every waking moment of their life. Jeff tries to minimize this inevitable discomfort by being accessible and responsive to his clients, keeping them apprised of every important development in their cases, explaining the procedures and issues that may arise in a particular case so the client isn't bewildered by what's going on around him or her, and by personally appearing with his clients at all significant proceedings so they don't have to "reinvent the wheel" by explaining the details of their case to an associate or substitute counsel who is not thoroughly familiar with them.
Jeff treats his clients like family. His goal in every case is to guide his client through the often treacherous byways of the court system and ensure that the outcome of their case will be the very best allowed by the facts and circumstances.
